April 2010 potpourri

First Presbyterian Church of Scottsbluff, Nebraska

Birthdays and Anniversaries and Calendar News of Note

________________

The potpourri lives! J After a six month hiatus to revise our newsletter focus and distribution, the potpourri is back. It has always remained a significant way for many in our congregation to stay in touch with the life and calendar of the church. We invite you to contribute – whether ideas, notes of thanks, announcements (or creative time and energy).

The first revision we’re making is in automatic distribution. Until last year, we were sending out over 300 copies of our church newsletter each month at a not-insignificant postage cost – to a list which included many who have communicated they prefer receiving much more of their news these days over internet and email. Our revised potpourri will be printed once a month and made available for pick-up at any time in the church lobby areas – plus it will be sent out via email at the same time it is printed. The potpourri will also be sent out by ‘snail-mail’ on request to home-bound members and friends of the congregation – and we invite you to help us make sure this list is up to date.

Because the preparation of the potpourri will now be much less labor intensive as well, our deadline for contributions and input will be the last Monday of each month – so that the newsletter can be made available by the first Sunday of each month. It is simpler in format, though still rich in potential. There will remain room for broadening the scope of the potpourri – as well as room for your creative input. Enjoy!
