What to Expect

When you arrive at First Presbyterian Church of Scottsbluff, and you first enter the doors, we hope that you will immediately feel welcome. At FPC, we have a place for everyone, and all people are welcomed and loved as part of the family. We have coffee and cookies in the chapel – the first big doorway on the left – and some tables where you’re invited to have a seat and visit.

As you pass through the lobby, you will be greeted bt one of our deacons who will offer you a bulletin and/or a clipboard with coloring pages and paper for any kids you may have with you. They are there to give you assistance and to answer any questions you might have.

Head up the stairs to your right that lead to the narthex. Once there, head straight ahead  and through the doors into the sanctuary.

Once you enter our beautiful sanctuary, you can expect to hear the buzz and chatter of people who are eager to be here for worship and who are excited to see each other again. Find a seat or say hello to others who are there for worship.

Our worship services incorporate many elements – from singing and readings to prayers and a sermon. Though our worship services often follow a similar format from week to week, our Music and Worship team dreams up creative and inspiring things to enhance each worship service. Every week, children who would like to participate are invited to come forward for a brief children’s message.

First Presbyterian Church loves music. Our church sings mostly traditional hymns with some contemporary music sprinkled in from time to time. We are blessed with a beautiful pipe organ and an amazing organist. We have choirs – a chancel choir for adults and a hand bell choir – who offer their musical gifts on a regular basis, and we have special music from time to time.
